At its weekly meeting this afternoon, the City’s Economic Recovery Task Force reconsidered its recommendation to continue the Pedestrian Marketplace through November 1, 2020 for two reasons: 1) CDOT has just started using much more parking area than expected in the City’s parking lots during the next two months for construction related to the Westbound Peak Period Shoulder Lane Project, and 2) Beginning with a strong cold front this Thursday, daytime highs are expected to hover around freezing; snow is predicted on Sunday and Monday.

Therefore, in order to restore some of the parking capacity lost to CDOT construction and to adjust for the upcoming weather conditions, the Task Force has recommended and the City has approved reopening Miner Street to vehicular traffic at 8:00 am this Friday October 23rd. Businesses must remove all of their items from their temporary encroachment areas on Miner Street by 4:00 p.m. this Thursday.
