Subject:      Water System Interruption

Date:           March 8, 2022

There was a water system interruption that occur sometime early morning,  Tuesday, March 8, 2022. The system has been repaired; however, in order to protect the public, the water system has been hyper-chlorinated (high levels of chlorine) to disinfect the piping and storage tank.

Please do not drink the water until the City receives confirmation from lab testing that there is no contamination. The water is safe for showering, etc. The system will be flushed by City crews on Wednesday through the hydrants to bring the chlorine down to normal levels. Afterwards, the City will collect bacteriological samples on Wednesday and the results will be available on Thursday. We appreciate your cooperation.

If you could flush your water line until the strong smell of chlorine dissipates would be appreciated.

If you should have any questions or comments, please contact, Wayne Ramey, Water System Operator at 303-921-0129.
