Update on Fatal I-70 Crash

Update to Fatal Crash on I-70 / Identity of Driver & Passenger

The Idaho Springs Police Department responded to a report of a crash on 02/02/22 at
approximately 5:36 p.m. Officers arrived and determined a 2020 Jeep Compass Trailhawk was
travelling eastbound on Interstate 70, near exit 241, and struck a semi-truck that was broken
down on the shoulder of the roadway. The female passenger, 33 year old Leora Ezoory of Los
Angeles, California, was found deceased at the scene. The male driver, 34 year old Joel Ezoory
of Los Angeles, California was transported to a Denver area hospital for his injuries. The semi truck
driver was in the cab of the truck at the time of the crash and was not injured.
The accident continues to be investigated by ISPD with the assistance of the Colorado State
Patrol. There are no indications of driver impairment, and the accident remains under
investigation by ISPD and CSP. Further information will be provided at the conclusion of the
